The eight nominees for Best New Artist performed a show-stopping medley of their hits. Dressed as a flight attendant, Sabrina Carpenter performed “Manchild” atop a massive airplane on stage. Lady Gaga commanded the stage to perform “Abracadabra” in a feathers-and-cage ensemble.
Olivia Dean took home the award for Best New Artist, while the reigning 2025 Grammys champ Kendrick Lamar took home Best Rap Album and won Record of the Year for “Luther,” with SZA. Just a week before he's set to perform at the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny took home the award for Album of the Year — marking the first time an all-Spanish-language album has done so
Overcome with emotion, Bad Bunny bowed his head and wept for several seconds before taking the stage to accept his award for Album of the Year.
Most of his speech was in his native tongue, Spanish, as is all of his music.
But he delivered one pointed line in English: "I want to dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams."
It was a fitting way to end a night that repeatedly saw stars speaking out against the Trump administration's immigration crackdown — and a preview, perhaps, of what's to come when Bad Bunny performs at the Super Bowl halftime show one week from today
