The founder caught wind of a clip of U.S. figure skater Alysa Liu reaching for a Rare Beauty lip product before accepting her gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics and took to Instagram to share a relatable response.
In the video that's been circulating the internet, Liu is seen walking to the podium before pausing and asking, "Where's my lipstick?" She then grabs what one TikToker identified as the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Lip Oil in Delight, a rose brown shade.
On her Instagram Stories, Gomez, 33, reacted to the moment, writing, "Congratulations @alysaxliu. (She's just like me fr)."
The 20-year-old figure skater won the gold medal after her free skate performance in Milan, Italy, on Thursday, Feb. 19, breaking a 24-year drought for Team USA.
Her total score was 226.79, enough to push her ahead of Japan's Kaori Sakamoto, who finished with a silver medal and a score of 224.90. Liu's win marked the first time since Sarah Hughes in 2002 that Team USA took home the gold in women's figure skating.
