The 2026 Winter Paralympics officially begins Friday, March 6, with more than 600 athletes gathering for the opening ceremony to honor their sports and countries.
From March 6-15, Italy will host the 2026 Winter Paralympics with 665 athletes competing for gold.
At 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, the 2026 Winter Paralympics Opening Ceremony will be broadcast live on cable TV and streaming platforms.
The title/theme for the opening ceremony is, "Life in Motion," according to the Olympics March 6 release.
"It is a tribute to life as change and transformation, inspired by the language of art and its unique ability to interpret the ever-evolving contemporary reality," per the Olympics. "An approach that redefines how we understand disability by fostering a new harmony between individuals and their environment."
