Dow drops more than 800 points as oil surges, bond yields climb in response to deepening Iran conflict: Live updates

U.S. equities tumbled on Tuesday, undoing a Monday equity comeback, as oil prices spiked again and traders worried that the U.S.-Iran war could drag on longer than anticipated.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average
lost 828 points, or nearly 1.7%. The 30-stock index was down 1,277.93 points at its low of the session. The S&P 500

slipped 1.6%, while the Nasdaq Composite
was down 1.7%. At their lows of the day, the S&P 500 had lost 2.5%, and the Nasdaq was down about 2.7%.

Each of the S&P 500 sectors were in the red on Tuesday, with all but energy down more than 1% on the day. Materials, industrials and consumer discretionary sectors saw the biggest losses on fears that higher oil prices and borrowing costs could weigh on the U.S. economy.
