Chris Mannix Sources: James Harden–Darius Garland Trade in Advanced Talks

The deal would represent an exchange of former All-Star guards. Harden, 36, has been a workhorse for the Clippers this season, averaging 25.4 points in 35.4 minutes per game. Garland, 26, has battled injuries this season. He missed Cleveland’s first seven games recovering from offseason toe surgery and has been sidelined since Jan. 16 with an ankle sprain. On the season, Garland is averaging 18 points per game.

Harden was not in the lineup for Los Angeles on Monday. Clippers coach Tyronn Lue told reporters that Harden was away from the team for personal reasons.

In talks, the Cavaliers have pushed for the Clippers to include draft capital, seeking either a first-round pick or a future swap, sources tell SI. Los Angeles, which has limited draft assets to deal, has rejected those requests.

Durant out vs. Pacers after stepping on fan's foot

INDIANAPOLIS -- All-Star forward Kevin Durant missed the Houston Rockets' 118-114 win over the Pacers on Monday night due to a sprained left ankle.

Durant suffered the injury when he stepped on a fan's foot during a recent game. Coach Ime Udoka said Durant had "tweaked" the ankle and did not provide a timetable for a return

Durant was picked as an All-Star reserve Sunday, his 16th All-Star selection. He played nearly 38½ minutes in Saturday's 111-107 victory over Dallas. Reed Sheppard was expected to replace Durant in the lineup.

Durant has not previously sat out a game this season because of injuries. He sat out two games in November for personal reasons. The 37-year-old Durant is averaging a team-best 26.2 points.

NEW YORK -- Dallas coach Jason Kidd has been fined $35,000 for public criticism of officiating and using profane language during a media interview, the NBA announced Monday.

Kidd made his comments after the Mavericks' 111-107 loss at Houston Rockets on Saturday.

Kansas' Peterson finishes game, hits 2 late 3s to beat Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas -- Darryn Peterson was happy to finally finish a game for No. 11 Kansas, and the Jayhawks certainly needed the standout freshman at the end against No. 13 Texas Tech.

"This is the first game I got through to the end," Peterson said. "I've been trying to all year, so to finally be able to do it, it's a blessing."

Peterson scored 19 points while playing a season-high 35 minutes, but his only two field goals in the second half were late 3-pointers. He made the tying basket on a contested shot from the right corner with 1:20 left, and hit again from the left wing with 44 seconds left in a 64-61 victory Monday night.

An expected top pick in the NBA draft in June, Peterson had sat out a win over Kansas State the previous game because of an ankle injury. The 6-foot-5 guard has also dealt with hamstring and calf issues this season while sitting out 10 games overall for Kansas (17-5, 7-2 Big 12).

Before hitting the late 3s, Peterson was only 3-of-12 shooting against the Red Raiders (16-6, 6-3).

"He's got something that I guess you're born with and can't teach. He's got just an unbelievable ability to raise his level when it counts the most," Jayhawks coach Bill Self said. "That's what he did tonight. I mean, those two plays he made were obviously the two biggest plays of the game for us."

Knicks beat Lakers 112-100 to spoil LeBron James' 32nd regular-season game at Madison Square Garden

NEW YORK -- — OG Anunoby scored 25 points, Landry Shamet added 23 and the New York Knicks beat the Los Angeles Lakers 112-100 on Sunday night to spoil LeBron James' 32nd game at Madison Square Garden.

Josh Hart finished with 20 points and Jalen Brunson had 12 points and a season-high 13 assists for the Knicks, who matched a season high with their sixth straight win, most of them coming easily.

James finished with 22 points, six assists and five rebounds after being chosen as a reserve earlier Sunday for his NBA-record 22nd consecutive All-Star selection.

He fell to 23-9 in the regular season at MSG, where he came into the game having averaged 28.2 points, 7.6 assists and 7.0 rebounds.

Luka Doncic had 30 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists. The game was exactly a year to the day of the Lakers’ last trip to New York, when shortly after their victory came word that they agreed to the blockbuster trade with Dallas that brought Doncic to Los Angeles.

James hasn’t said if his 23rd season will be his last, but the possibility of a final MSG appearance sent ticket sales soaring, with seats far from the floor selling for more than $500 and ones near the court going for thousands of dollars.

Grammys 2026 winners and live updates: Bad Bunny takes home Album of the Year, Kendrick Lamar and SZA win Record of the Year

The stars were out in Los Angeles on Sunday for music’s biggest night. The 68th Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, gave us a spectacular night of performances from the music industry’s very best.

The eight nominees for Best New Artist performed a show-stopping medley of their hits. Dressed as a flight attendant, Sabrina Carpenter performed “Manchild” atop a massive airplane on stage. Lady Gaga commanded the stage to perform “Abracadabra” in a feathers-and-cage ensemble.

Olivia Dean took home the award for Best New Artist, while the reigning 2025 Grammys champ Kendrick Lamar took home Best Rap Album and won Record of the Year for “Luther,” with SZA. Just a week before he's set to perform at the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny took home the award for Album of the Year — marking the first time an all-Spanish-language album has done so

Overcome with emotion, Bad Bunny bowed his head and wept for several seconds before taking the stage to accept his award for Album of the Year.

Most of his speech was in his native tongue, Spanish, as is all of his music.

But he delivered one pointed line in English: "I want to dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams."

It was a fitting way to end a night that repeatedly saw stars speaking out against the Trump administration's immigration crackdown — and a preview, perhaps, of what's to come when Bad Bunny performs at the Super Bowl halftime show one week from today

Carlos Alcaraz beats Novak Djokovic in Australian Open final

MELBOURNE, Australia -- Carlos Alcaraz is the youngest man ever to complete a career Grand Slam after securing the Australian Open title against Novak Djokovic, who had never lost in his 10 previous finals at Melbourne Park.

The top-ranked Alcaraz dropped the first set Sunday as Djokovic went out hard in pursuit of a record 25th major title, but he dug deep to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5.

As he was leaving the court, he signed the lens of the TV camera with a note of recognition: "Job finished. 4/4 Complete."

The 22-year-old Spaniard scrambled to retrieve shots that usually would be winners for

Djokovic, and he kept up intense pressure on his 38-year-old rival. There were extended rallies where each player hit enough brilliant shots to usually win a game, with neither player willing to give an inch or concede.

Once he secured victory, Alcaraz let his racket slip out of his hand and fell to the ground on his back, putting his hands to his head.

He stayed there for a few seconds before going to the net to shake hands with Djokovic. Both players exchanged a few words and Djokovic smiled as he congratulated Alcaraz. The new champion then ran to hug his coaches in the courtside chairs and later his dad and other team members in the stands.

After paying tribute to Djokovic for being an inspiration, Alcaraz turned to his support team. He parted ways with longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero at the end of last season and Samuel Lopez stepped up to head the team.
